The residents of Taung had to wait 6 years before a resolution they took in 2006 came into effect. This “long wait to shopping” was apparently a result of time-consuming paperwork that had to be attended to by the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform (DRDLR).
“The value of the Taung Mall escalated from R 60m to over R 92m all courtesy of inflation incurred over the six-year wait. As if that was not enough, all the investors who were initially on involved pulled out. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the Eris Property Group for helping make this dream a reality” said Cas De Villiers of the Vildev Group.
Cas explained that the Mall will be a 9 000m² and will include national tenants like Edgars, Total Sports, Ackermans, Markham, Shoprite and Boxer Superstore. “This centre is expected to be
completed in April 2013.”
